Further description of brake disc

Disc brakes are generally made of discs, brake pads, pistons and calipers. The pistons attach the brake pads to the disc, thus slowing down the car or stopping the car completely

The brake disc or wheel disc is a circular plate made of cast iron, aluminum, iron or steel that is attached to the wheels and in front of the brake pads, with the help of which the brake pads reduce the speed of the wheels and or stop completely

The brake disc is actually a cast iron plate located between the wheel and where the bearing is located. Most new cars (manufactured from 1999 on) have one brake disc on each wheel, while older cars used only two discs on the rear wheel. The brake disc plays a very important role in the braking system. This causes friction between the pad and the disc, which slows down and eventually stops the car. When the brake disc fails (thinning or tilting), they are unable to remove the heat from braking from the braking system, which causes the disc to redden and reduce the impact of the braking system

The friction between the wheel disc and the related pads (brake pads) causes the required braking function to be applied to the wheels. Both sides of the disc plate have a machining surface. The brake disc is held in place by two screws and a central nut. In some cars, the disc is simply attached to the wheel. Other components involved in the brake include the master cylinder and caliper
